Rubtek AS (“we”, “us”) operates the Buddy — Travel Companion app (“Buddy”, “the App”).
By using Buddy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Buddy is a lifestyle companion app providing general information, tools, and utilities for people living in or visiting Thailand. Features include weather and air quality information, health and hydration tracking, a Thai phrasebook with audio, cultural and practical guides, visa status tracking, flight countdown, Thai holiday calendar, emergency contact storage, medical information and insurance details, diary and mood tracking, alerts, and general information about life in Thailand.
Buddy is not a medical device, medical app, or healthcare provider. Health features (hydration, minerals, supplements, pharmacy guide) are personal informational tools only — not medical monitoring, diagnosis, or advice. The pharmacy guide lists commonly available products in Thailand for informational purposes only — it is not a recommendation to take any medication. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication or supplement. The emergency medical card stores your personal information — it does not connect to any medical system or emergency service.
Currency conversion rates are approximate and may not reflect actual available rates. Cost estimates are approximate and may be outdated. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, or tax advice.
Information about visas, immigration rules, and regulations is general content that may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate. Visa rules change frequently. Nothing in the App constitutes legal advice.
The insurance storage feature is a personal tool for your own policy details. We do not recommend, endorse, sell, or evaluate any insurance products.
Buddy is not an emergency service. The emergency card stores your information for display only. Tapping an emergency number initiates a standard phone call — the App does not connect to dispatch systems or transmit your location.
Buddy offers a free trial period, after which certain features require a paid subscription (monthly, yearly, or lifetime). When the trial ends, free users retain access to core safety features (Emergency SOS, emergency card, and pharmacy guide) while other features are locked until a subscription is purchased.
Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal are governed by the respective store's policies. Refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google, as they handle all billing.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Buddy. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
We strive for accuracy but make no warranties about the completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any information in the App. Information may be outdated or inaccurate. You are responsible for independently verifying information before relying on it.
All information is stored locally on your device. We cannot recover it if lost. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, keeping your emergency and insurance details current, securing your device, and backing up anything important.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rubtek AS, its developers, owners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any injury, illness, financial losses, immigration issues, losses from inaccurate information, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the App.
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
